eNode, Inc. takes your security and privacy concerns very seriously, and assures you that eNode Object Realizer, and all eNode demo applications provided on this site, including eNode Secure Sandbox, are safe and that they fully respect your privacy. To ensure the integrity of our software, it is delivered in digitally signed JAR files, along with a certificate from Verisign, Inc. verifying the authenticity of the signature.

You can check the certificate information by clicking the Details button on the security dialog displayed by Java Web Start. If the signed JAR files are tampered with, then Java Web Start will automatically refuse to launch applications outside the secure sandbox. However, if you still have any questions or concerns regarding the security advisories, please contact us at info@enode.com, and we will try to address them to your satisfaction.

Some of the security advisories you may see are described below.

System Clipboard

Applications that operate in the secure sandbox environment provided by Java Web Start will show a security advisory similar to the following whenever the system clipboard is accessed.

A similar advisory is also shown when an application running in a secure sandbox environment tries to cut or copy some information to the system clipboard.

Unrestricted Access

Applications that access web services from third-party sources must operate outside the sandbox environment in order to make network connections to the service provider(s).

For this reason, applications which require full access to network resources are delivered in signed JAR files, which we assert have safe content. Such applications will show a security advisory similar to the following the first time they are launched.

Third-Party Web Services

Some of the demo applications access third-party web services over which we have no control, nor can we make any assertion on their practices.

Since the services selected by eNode cannot access any information that you do not explicitly send to them, nor can they cause any kind of damage to your machine or network, it is safe to invoke the services as long as you don’t send sensitive or confidential information to them.
